At my daughter's wedding rehearsal about to present her and my son-in-love their wedding quilt.
I grew up with a needle and thread in my hand...
In October 2026, I won first place at the Georgia National Fair in the Mixed Technique category for my daughter's wedding quilt, the one in my lap in this photo. You can see a full picture of it here. I designed and stitched every stitch. But let's go back to where it all began....
When I was 4 years old, Santa brought me a Fisher Price sewing machine and I made the flip and stitch stuffed doll. At age 5, I took my first quilting class using cardboard templates, a hand needle, and thread. I've been stitching ever since.
I've taken quilting classes and quilted most of my life. After 20 years of machine quilting using my domestic desktop sewing machine (complete with basting on my hands and knees), I bought my first longarm. I started quilting for charities, for friends, and family - anyone who would let me longarm for them. I fell in love with longarmming - the creativity and what happens when a quilt top — even an imperfect one — gets finished. It stops sitting in a bin. It becomes the thing it was always meant to be: Something warm. Something cuddly. Something that gets handed down.
I'm a quilter, a retired homeschool mom, and a pretty enthusiastic cook. I love my morning cup of coffee, my garden, and hanging out with my amazing husband and family. I run Peas In A Pod Quilting out of my studio in McDonough, Georgia.
I do edge-to-edge, custom, t-shirt quilts, and quilt repair. I work with experienced quilters and first-timer quilters. I meet with non-quilters who want a t-shirt quilt or their quilt repaired so they can continue enjoying it. I love hearing every story behind every quilt so I hope you share your story too.
I'm based in McDonough, Georgia. I welcome local drop-offs from across the Atlanta area as well as mail-ins from all 50 states.

Meet Sweet Pea...
3 years after I bought my first longarm, I decided to upgrade to a Bernina Q24. I wanted the gold standard for stitch quality and the dependability of Bernina's Swiss engineering. A Bernina longarm has not one, but TWO optical stitch regulators to ensure beautiful stitches, equal in length. This ensures gorgeous quilting on the quilt top you poured your heart and time into.
Well something sew special that I spend sew much time with should be named. She is named for my mom, the woman who taught me to sew, bake, and embrace life with passion and a helpful heart. My dad's nickname for her was Sweet Pea. I could think of no better way to honor such an amazing woman, the original Pea in my Pod. 🩷🫛
