Edge-to-Edge vs. Custom — What's the Difference?

Edge-to-Edge or Pantograph
You choose one design from my catalog that stitches across the whole quilt in evenly spaced rows. It gives your quilt a beautiful, consistent, finished look — and it's the fastest and most affordable option. This is what most clients choose, and it's great for quilts you want to actually use and love.

Custom
I design the quilting specifically for your quilt — different designs in different sections, feathers, motifs, fills, the works. This can be fully hand guided, custom computerized quilting, or a combination of both. More time, more detail, uniquely you.
You can see more examples of both styles of quilting by going to my portfolio and clicking on the style button at the top of the page.
Not sure which one? Edge-to-edge is almost always the right starting point.
How It Works
1. Prepare your top. Quilt top done, backing cut 4–6 inches larger on all sides, backing pressed. That's it.
2. Drop it off or mail it in. Local drop-off in McDonough, Georgia, or ship from anywhere in the country. All 50 states welcome.
3. I email a final quote. I double-check everything when it comes in and email you a final quote. Once you approve the final quote, I get to work. Note: The 1-2 week turn around on edge-to-edge quilting does not begin until the final quote is approved by you.
4. I quilt it and photograph it. Every finished quilt gets a studio photo before it leaves.
5. It comes home.

Pricing

Edge-to-edge pantograph quilting: 2.7 cents per square inch with no thread fees or rush fees. There is a $45 minimum.
A baby quilt (36" x 45") with edge-to-edge quilting typically runs $44.
A standard lap quilt (50" x 65") with edge-to-edge quilting comes out right around $88.
Custom quilting starts at 6.0 cents per square inch and is quoted individually based on the design.
Backing, batting, pressing, and binding are extra.
No matter what style you choose,
I'll give you an exact quote before anything starts — no surprises.

Turnaround: 1–2 weeks for edge-to-edge after the final quote is approved. Custom quilting, t-shirt quilts, and repair work are quoted individually.
Your quilt is insured while it's in my care.
