How to Prepare Your
T-Shirts & Items to be turned into a
T-Shirt Quilt

At Peas In A Pod Quilting in McDonough, Georgia, here's exactly what we ask you to do before sending your t-shirts and momentos.

It's simpler than it looks, I promise.

1. Wash without Fabric Softener

Wash and dry all shirts.

Do not use fabric softener.

2. Do NOT cut the t-shirts or items.

I will cut the shirts to the custom size needed for the quilt based on the logo and the rest of the quilt.  It is very important I receive the entire shirt uncut.

3. Remove heavy embellishments.

Buttons, rhinestones, crystals, bows, etc can all damage the longarm equipment.  If you want that part of the shirt or item to be used, those embellishments must be removed before shipping the item to me.

4. Organize and label every shirt and item.

Pin a label to every shirt and item indicating if you want the front, back, or both are to be used in the quilt.  If you want just the sleeve, then label and state that.

5. Count.

Count and make note of the number of fronts, backs, sleeves, and additional pieces you want to use.  Enter this number on the T-Shirt Quilt form.

6. Place all shirts in a bag.

This form ensures we have the same information and that I know the box of shirts that just arrived belong to you.

7. Fill out & Print the T-Shirt Quilt form.

This form ensures we have the same information and that I know the box of shirts that just arrived belong to you.

8. Ship to me.

Put the bag of shirts and the T-Shirt Quilt form in the box, seal, and ship to me.

9. Arrival of shirts.

I will let you know when your shirts arrive.  I will send a mock up of the layout for your approval before I assemble the quilt.

10. Quilt arrives home.

Turnaround time is usually 3-4 weeks from the time the box of t-shirts arrive at the studio.  I will send a final invoice which will include the cost of the return shipping if you are not local to the McDonough / Atlanta / Middle Georgia area.  I will ship the completed quilt once the invoice is paid in full.

Seeeeee???  Easy Peasy!  (get it?  peasy?  Peas In A Pod?  😂)
